BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — After falling just short of rallying last week, the WKU Hilltoppers (3-3, 1-1 C-USA) got back to work this week on Tuesday as they prepare for a critical Conference USA East Division match up with preseason favorite rival Middle Tennessee.
Saturday’s game, set for a 1:30 p.m. kick off from Floyd Stadium in Murfreesboro, can be seen live on ESPN 3 with Jake Rose, Alex Myers and Sara Cardona on the call.
Co-offensive coordinator Brian Brohm addressed the media following the practice and began by complimenting the defensive schemes from head coach Rick Stockstill and coordinator Tyrone Nix.
“Middle Tennessee is a good defense. They bring multiple looks and we have to be ready for their third down package,” Brohm said. “We have to be ready to pick it up and know what our adjustments are. They present a challenge.”
WKU has found its stride offensively, tallying a combined 102 points in the last two games, but have been hampered still by the turnover bug at times, something Brohm indicated as a continued point of emphasis in practice.
“We’re moving the ball well offensively, but we need to take care of the ball better,” Brohm added. “That’s been an emphasis for the last three or four weeks. Turning the ball over is what loses the game for you. We just have to keep harping on it in practice. We can’t have any space between your arm and the football.”
