IRVING, Texas – WKU Volleyball was the first Conference USA team to lock down a spot in next weekend’s C-USA Tournament, since then the remaining spots have been filled. On Saturday evening, the league office announced the tournament bracket upon the completion of the day’s matches.
The Lady Toppers clinched the top spot in the field following a perfect 14-0 regular-season campaign, the fourth perfect season in C-USA history. In Friday’s opener, the Red and White will take on No. 8-seeded UTEP in a noon CT contest from Houston, Texas. No. 4 UTSA will take on fifth-seeded Florida Atlantic in the day’s next match (2 p.m.). The lower half of the bracket has No. 3 Marshall facing off against No. 6, and host, Rice at 5 p.m. followed by No. 2 Southern Miss taking on No. 7 North Texas at 7 p.m.
With a victory on Friday, WKU would play the winner of No. 4 UTSA and No. 5 Florida Atlantic in a 2:30 p.m. CT tilt. The second semifinal of the day is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Sunday’s championship match will commence at 1 p.m. CT. The winner of the match will receive Conference USA’s automatic bid into the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
All matches of the Conference USA Tournament will be streamed on C-USA TV.
