BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU closed out practice for Saturday’s rivalry game at Middle Tennessee with an hour-plus practice on Thursday inside Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium.
Saturday’s game, set for a 1:30 p.m. kick off from Floyd Stadium in Murfreesboro, can be seen live on ESPN 3 with Jake Rose, Alex Myers and Sara Cardona on the call.
All week, Brohm has stressed to his team the importance of coming out hungry for a win and playing with confidence again on both sides of the ball. After a good week of practice, the third year head coach felt like his team was in the right place ahead of a pivotal game for C-USA’s East Division.
“I think we’ve had a good week of practice on both sides of the ball,” Brohm said. “Defensively, we want to get back to doing things the right way, not giving up big plays and being aggressive in our approach. On offense, we’ve got to continue to move the ball and move it in a lot of different ways.”
Brohm has preached to his team before the importance of hating to lose more than enjoying to win, so a focus on attitude was also important this week for the Hilltoppers.
“I think they’ve worked hard,” Brohm added. “They understand each week is a new opportunity. This week, we get to play the best team in the conference to this point on their home field. I’m sure they’ll be ready for us after last year, and it will be a heck of a game.”
