BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Two practices are in the books for the 2016 Conference USA Champion WKU Hilltoppers as they continued preparations for Memphis in the 2016 Boca Raton Bowl.
Under interim head coach Nick Holt, not much has changed for the Hilltoppers in their practice regiment, but one noticeable addition made its way to the practice field on Saturday – music.
“I like music out there,” Holt said. “It may be a little loud, odds some distraction, helps you get ready for some noise at the bowl game. It’s Saturday morning so it wakes up the guys. We had a little fun with it.”
After having a week off to focus on finals, Holt said it was good to have his team back on the practice field, gearing up for their third consecutive bowl game.
“We’ve had two good practices. We’re fresh, and they don’t have school on their mind because we just got done with finals. I think it was really good to get back on there and get focused on football. It was good to get back with the guys. Most of us hadn’t seen them for a couple of days, so I think it was a good situation.”
WKU will have a day off on Sunday before returning to the practice field next week ahead of the bowl game, set for Dec. 20 at 6 p.m. ESPN will televise the game with Dave Lamont, Desmond Howard and Quint Kessenich on the call while ESPN Radio will also air the game across the country.
