BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — On Thursday, WKU wrapped up preparations for Saturday’s Senior Day contest against North Texas, the final regular season home game for WKU’s class of 2016.
Saturday’s game is slated for a 2:30 p.m. kick at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN 3 with a simulcast of the Hilltopper IMG Sports Radio Network with Randy Lee and Leo Peckenpaugh calling the action. Fans can save $10 on tickets by using the promo code INDUSTRY.
Their contributions to the program are not lost on head coach Jeff Brohm, as the 35 games WKU has won during their careers are already the fifth-most by a senior class in program history.
“The seniors have done a great job, whether they’ve been here four years, two years, one year. They’ve all laid the ground work and worked their tails off,” Brohm said. “Our other guys know we owe it to them to come out with a bang and play our tails off and do whatever we can to win.”
On defense, the Mean Green sport an aggressive front seven, and Brohm indicated following practice it would be up to WKU’s offensive front to slow down the rush and keep quarterback Mike White upright in the pocket.
“They are an aggressive defense. They are going to pressure the quarterback and play press coverage,” Brohm added. “They like to create turnovers, so if they can do that and get after the quarterback, it’s going to make for a long day. It will be a great challenge.”
