BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — With the regular season home finale on the horizon, WKU’s senior class looks to go out on top when the Hilltoppers host North Texas on Saturday, a 2:30 p.m. kick off which can be seen on ESPN 3.
The 2016 senior class has won a combined 35 games since coming to The Hill, already the fifth-most successful senior class in school history by total wins. For the Hilltoppers to move up in that ranking by getting Win 36, the offense will have to contend with a much improved Mean Green defense under first year head coach Seth Littrell.
“They’ve very improved from last season,” said co-offensive coordinator Brian Brohm. “They have some athletes on the back end that will get up and press us, try to challenge us at the receiver position. They give us a lot of different looks. Our line will have to be sharp. It’s a complex defense that we’ll have to be ready for.”
North Texas has 51 tackles for loss on the season, so keeping the quarterback upright and protected will be key on Saturday according to Brohm.
“They have a lot of pressures and will bring one over thirty-percent of the time. It will be a challenge for our line and for our quarterback to get the ball out of his hands.”
