COLUMBIA, Ky. — Former Glasgow Scottie Jalen Sublett broke an individual Lindsey Wilson football rushing record and helped the undefeated Blue Raiders break the program record for most rushing yards in a game.
Sublett posted 194 yards on 16 attempts, while the team amassed 410 rushing yards – both school records ¬– Saturday against Union in a 53-17 victory for No. 7 LWC. The Blue Raiders won their homecoming game 53-17.
Sublett paced his record-setting day with a Blue Raider record 80-yard touchdown run at the close of the third quarter. He also tied a school record with three rushing touchdowns Saturday. Sublett was a member of the Glasgow High School state runner-up team in 2011. He initially attended Murray State before transferring to LWC.
Lindsey Wilson matched its best start in a season. The team won its first six games last season, before finishing with an 8-3 overall record and a spot in the NAIA Football Championship Series.
Blake Ingleton tacked on 148 yards and two touchdowns — the second time that the Blue Raiders produced a pair of 100-yard rushers in the same game.
Lindsey Wilson led 27-17 at halftime on the strength of two Ingleton rushing touchdowns and a scoring throw by Dylan Beasley.
Beasley completed 20 of his 35 attempts for 247 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
Lindsey Wilson begins a two-week road swing beginning with a Saturday contest against Cumberlands (Ky.). Kickoff for that game is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.
