Lady Topper hoops fan luncheon set for Oct. 17

September 27, 2017 By espnky

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Season ticket holders and fans of the WKU women’s basketball
program are encouraged to attend the annual Lady Topper Tip-Off Luncheon on Tuesday,
Oct. 17, inside the Jack and Jackie Harbaugh Club on the second floor of Houchens
Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium.

Attendance for the event is $20 and all attendees are asked to pay in advance. Those
interested in attending should RSVP by Oct. 13 to Peggy Jones by phone at (270)
745-2133 or by e-mail at peggy.jones@wku.edu.

The luncheon is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. and will run through 1:00 p.m. on
Tuesday afternoon. Those attending should park in Parking Structure #2 located next
to the football stadium.

The Lady Toppers, who claimed their third conference tournament title in five
seasons under Head Coach Michelle Clark-Heard in 2016-17, are in the midst of one of
the most successful eras in program history. WKU has won 130 games over the last
five seasons and 84 in the last three seasons, a record for the most wins in a
three-year span by any C-USA team in the conference’s history.

The 2017-18 season will see WKU matched up against challenging opponents, including
a Nov. 14 home date against perennial power Notre Dame inside E.A. Diddle Arena. The
Lady Toppers will also battle Power 5 opponents Missouri and Indiana on the road and
will compete in three in-season tournaments, including the 2017 Hawkeye Challenge to
open the season, Georgia State’s Thanksgiving Tournament and the West Palm
Invitational in mid-December.

Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams will be in action on Friday, Oct. 13 for
the annual Hilltopper Hysteria event inside E.A. Diddle Arena. Presented by local
McDonald’s, Hilltopper Hysteria will feature individual player and coach
introductions for both teams, scrimmages, a shooting stars challenge and
entertainment from the WKU Spirit Squad. Parking and admission are free for the
annual event.

Season tickets for the Lady Toppers are on sale now through the WKU Ticket Office,
and season ticket renewals have been mailed. For more information, call the ticket
office at 1-800-5-BIG RED or 745-5222 locally.
