BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The next stop on the all-star circuit for the WKU men’s
basketball signing class takes place Friday night, as signee Josh Anderson competes
in the inaugural Allen Iverson Roundball Classic.
Anderson, a 6-foot-4 guard out of Madison Prep Academy in Baton Rouge, La., will be
joined by other top recruits participating in the all-star event at 6 p.m. CT Friday
at Churchland High School in Portsmouth, Va.
The tournament is being organized by former NBA star Allen Iverson in his home area.
The game includes 18 players in the ESPN top 100, including Anderson.
Anderson, who signed with WKU in November, is a consensus four-star recruit across
all outlets and is ranked as the No. 53 player nationally in the 2017 class by
Rivals, No. 54 by Scout and No. 57 by 247Sports.
He recently led Madison Prep to its third straight state championship and its fourth
title game appearance in as many years, averaging 12 points, 4.2 assists, 2.9
rebounds and 2.2 steals per game after switching to point guard to fill a void on
his team. Anderson shot better than 65 percent from the field.
As a junior, he averaged 18.1 points, 5.8 assists and 4.6 rebounds for the school,
and he’s the only player in Madison Prep history to start all four years at the
