BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — With regular-season tournament action in the books, WKU Softball is set to host a pair of squads out of the MAC in a trio of mid-week non-conference tilts. Mid-week play will open on Wednesday as the Hilltoppers will welcome the Bowling Green Falcons to the WKU Softball Complex for a twin-bill before Ohio visits for a single game on Thursday.

WKU Softball will carry an 11-8 record into the contests, owning a 6-2 record on its home field. Bowling Green owns a 9-10 record on the year while Ohio has put together a 12-2 mark entering game week.
The Hilltoppers own a 3-2 advantage in the all-time series with the Falcons and a 2-0 advantage over the Ohio Bobcats.
Last time out, WKU held No. 9 Oklahoma, the defending national champions, at bay down in Norman. In the one-run set back, the Hilltoppers allowed just five Sooner hits in the contest as freshman Haylee Towers went the distance in the circle. Tommi Stowers accounted for WKU’s run in the 1-2 final score with a lead-off home run in the top of the seventh inning.
With home runs in 11-of-19 games this season, WKU will look to keep the bats hot, owning a Conference USA leading 19 home runs on the early season. Six of those contests have seen multiple longballs leave the bats of the Hilltoppers. The squad has also registered 19 doubles and two triples already, producing a team slugging percentage of .397 after four weekends of play.
Hilltoppers have also continued to find a way onto the bases as the team owns a .350 on-base percentage with eight players posting OBPs of .300 or better. With 32 hit by pitches, WKU leads C-USA in the category behind a nation-leading 11 from Taylor Proctor alone. Additionally, the Red and White have also tallied 59 walks.
Following the mid-week contests, WKU Softball will spend the weekend in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, as the Hilltoppers open Conference USA play with a three-game series at Middle Tennessee.
