Former WKU Hilltopper football player Rod Smart — who is the most recognizable player from the old XFL — has been reported missing in South Carolina.
Smart has not been seen since June 12, when he left his home at 10:30 a.m. in Lancaster County, S.C., according to a press release from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina.
Smart is described as a 42-year-old black male, 6 feet tall, 199 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.
Anyone with information regarding Smart’s whereabouts is asked to call the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office at 803-283-3388.
Smart rose to fame while playing running back in the XFL in 2001 with the nickname “He Hate Me.” He parlayed his performance into a three-year stint as a player for the Carolina Panthers in the National Football League.
Smart was last seen driving his silver 2016 Nissan Maxima with NC tag PJR 1759.
