With five teams visiting the WKU Softball Complex this weekend, the Hilltoppers will look to improve the series records against each opponent. First up, WKU will take on Illinois State, down 2-6 in the series with the most recent meetings coming during the 2006 campaign. All eight meetings have taken place in Bowling Green. Friday’s action will feature the Red and White taking on Indiana State for the seventh time in program history. The Hilltoppers own a 5-1 advantage all-time over the Sycamores with all but one previous meetings occurring in the Bluegrass State.

Saturday’s doubleheader will kick off with WKU taking on IUPUI for the fifth-time in WKU Softball history. The Hilltoppers own a 3-1 all-time record over the Jaguars with the most recent meeting taking place in 2006. The second-half of the twin-bill features the Hilltoppers taking on the Wright State squad that finished 37-23 a year ago. WKU has claimed all five previous meetings over the Raiders.

Tournament action will close with the Hilltoppers hosting Austin Peay Sunday evening. WKU will look to add to its all-time series record lead of 22-3 over the Governors.

With homeruns in each of the team’s last five games, WKU will look to keep the bats hot, owning a Conference USA leading seven home runs on the early season. The squad has also registered nine doubles and a triple already, producing a team slugging percentage of .338 after two weekends of play.

Hilltoppers have also continued to find a way onto the bases as the team owns a .314 on-base percentage with five players posting OBPs of .300 or better. With 14 hit by pitches, WKU leads C-USA in the category behind a nation-leading seven from Taylor Proctor alone. Additionally, the Red and White have also tallied 25 walks.

Regular game pricing will be in place for Thursday’s single game at $5 for adults and $3 for youth. All-day passes for this weekend’s tournament games from Friday-Sunday can be purchased for $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. All-day passes cover Buchanon Park games as well, fans just need to keep their ticket stubs. As always, the Hilltopper flexible season ticket packages are on sale for $25, which includes 25 admittances to WKU Softball games that can be used during the Hilltoppers’ opening weekend on The Hill.
