At the Georgia Tech Invitational this past weekend, Sears won his second long jump
event of the outdoor season, jumping a mark of 7.73m (25’4.5”) that sits 31st in the
country and first in C-USA. The Columbus, Ga., native felt right at home as he also
notched a second place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 15.99m (52’5.5”),
tallying the fifth-best outdoor jump in school history.

This honor marks the fifth career C-USA Athlete of the Week accolade collected by
Sears, with three coming in the month of January (2015, ’16, ’17) during the indoor
season. It is the second outdoor weekly honor in Sears’ career.

WKU will go as a team to the Lenny Lyles and Clark Wood Invitational in Louisville
this weekend on April 28-29.
