Steve Newberry and Derron Steenbergen spoke to a group of Western Kentucky University students on behalf of the KBA WKU Radio Talent Institute about the opportunities on careers in broadcasting in July 2016.
Community Partnership co-op/Intern Program at the South Central Kentucky Community and Technical College. We consistently accept student interns who are interested in radio broadcasting.
Derron Steenbergen spoke to a Broadcast Operatons & Management class at Western Kentucky University on February 2, 2017 on careers in radio sales and operations. Student tours were given later that day of the Bowling Green stations.
Operated an exhibit at the Southern Kentucky Expo where employment information was distributed to those persons interested in radio-related careers on August 23, 2016.
Continued partnership with the Western Kentucky University broadcasting department’s Internship Program.
Hosted Bowling Green Leadership class for the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce outreach program discussing careers in broadcasting.
Greg Bowen, Sales Manager, managed a display at Western Kentucky University’s “Welcome Back WKU” event on 8/31/16. Greg spoke with students attending the university about opportunities for careers in radio sales and broadcasting.

Continued Partnership with Barren County High School Broadcasting Club (founded by Commonwealth Broadcasting.)
Spoke to the Barren County High School Broadcasting Club about pursuing a career in broadcasting.
Tours of our broadcasting studios and offices by students from Barren County High School Broadcasting Club who were interested in careers in broadcasting.
Accepted a student intern for several weeks from Barren County High School’s Broadcasting Club who worked at the radio station learning the many facets of a radio broadcasting career from sales to production to office duties.
Tours of our broadcasting studios and offices by Red Cross Elementary.
Gave tours of our studios to students in the Leader in Me Program with whom we are partnered at North Jackson Elementary.
Partnered with Hart County High School Agriculture Department for tours of the studios, allowing them time on the air to promote the Ag Community.
Partnered with Barren County High School Agriculture Department for tours of the studios, allowing them time on the air to promote the Ag Community.

Kellie Wood attended Career Fair at North Jackson Elementary to discuss careers in broadcasting to students.
Career Fair was held at Temple Hill Elementary in March 2017 and attended by Greg Bowen. While there he spoke to students there about the various career opportunities in radio broadcasting.
From April 2016 through May 2016 – Greg Bowen, Sales Manager, visited the Barren County Trojan Academy each Friday morning where he discussed radio broadcasting careers with the Freshmen there.
September 2016 through October 2016 – Greg Bowen was in attendance at the Barren County Trojan Academy each Friday where he described various career opportunities in radio broadcasting and the educational needs for each.
October 2016 and February 2017 – Greg Bowen attended career fairs at Campbellsville University in Campbellsville, Kentucky. During the fairs he discussed the specific qualities required to be an employee of Commonwealth Broadcasting as well as an overview of broadcasting general educational requirements
February 2016 through March 2016 – Greg Bowen spoke with Freshmen at Barren County’s Trojan Academy about the educational needs for various careers in radio broadcasting.
